"I'm a huge fan of the work that emerged from what became known as the Light & Space movement. Artists like James Turrell, Fred Eversley, Helen Pashgian, and Robert Irwin (to name a few) took unique paths toward exploring human perception, light, and materiality. Urban Aurora (no.2) is my own exploration of these themes." - JR
Existing as a minimalist form, Urban Aurora (no.2) is a light sculpture that responds to the sunlight of the day. As light enters the sculpture, it is bent and refracted resulting in shifting colours and patterns with varying intensities. Upon closer view, one can experience the environment of the external world recontextualized within the sculpture, presenting as an abstracted 'inner world'. The result being a dynamic composition - one that is both physical and virtual - ebbing and flowing into the surrounding landscape.

Unique piece.
